Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2016, Volume 10, Issue 2,   Pages 336-340 doi: 10.1007/s11783-014-0766-6

Abstract: The release of pollutants from sewage sludge in the treatment process is a worldwide tricky problem inthe field of sludge treatment.the release and reaction between monomers of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the sewage sludgeincineration treatment were studied based on simulated experiments.Over 90% of total PAHs in sewage sludge are released at the the temperature of 300°C–750°C.

LI Jianxin, YAN Jianhua, CHI Yong

Frontiers in Energy 2007, Volume 1, Issue 3,   Pages 359-364 doi: 10.1007/s11708-007-0054-2

Abstract: The content of heavy metals in the main physical compositions of municipal solid waste (MSW) is analyzed. The effects of temperature, chlorine and water on the partitioning of heavy metals are studied using a laboratory fluidized-bed (FB) furnace with simulated MSW composition. The experimental results show that temperature and chloride content in the feed have significant influence on the volatility of heavy metals, especially those of lower boiling point such as Hg, Cd and Zn. The influence of water is slight.
